Salary: USD 153,120 - 196,750 / annual

Roblox is building the platform and tools that empower a global community of developers and creators to build immersive 3D experiences. The Economy Platform team owns the systems powering Robux, Roblox's virtual currency, which enables players to participate in the virtual economy and creators to earn a living. This team is responsible for the purchasing, pricing, and payout systems that process billions of transactions and pay out hundreds of millions of dollars annually. In this role, you will have direct impact on the future direction of one of the largest virtual economies in the world. You'll develop highly scalable, resilient backend systems that help creators optimize their revenue within Roblox. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with product teams to identify and introduce new economic models, working on systems that must remain highly available and performant at massive scale. You'll be working on REST APIs, microservices architecture, and containerized systems. The role emphasizes data-driven decision-making around quality metrics and monitoring. This is an opportunity to solve unique technical challenges in payments, transactions, and financial systems at a platform serving tens of millions of daily users. Roblox operates a hybrid schedule: onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday. REQUIREMENTS: - 1–3 years of experience in Software Engineering or Computer Science - Passion for working on highly available and large-scale backend systems in production - Knowledge of REST, API design patterns, and scalable containerized systems and microservices - Data-driven focus on quality metrics and monitoring
