Voldex is a leading gaming studio focused on Roblox, home to several of the platform's top games including Brookhaven, Driving Empire, and NFL Universe Football. As a Software Engineer on the Driving Empire team, you will shape the future of one of Roblox's standout driving experiences. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys seeing their work come to life in a live game environment, building engaging experiences, tackling interesting technical problems, and iterating alongside a team committed to continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and launching features that delight millions of players daily
- Owning and delivering gameplay features end-to-end, from implementation through release and iteration
- Breaking down product requirements into technical tasks and providing reliable estimates
- Writing clean, performant, and maintainable Roblox Lua code aligned with team standards
- Designing and implementing systems with consideration for scalability, performance, and maintainability
- Partnering with designers, artists, and producers to build high-quality gameplay experiences
- Monitoring live features, analyzing performance, and addressing issues proactively
- Identifying and improving codebase quality, development workflows, and system reliability
- Participating actively in code reviews and contributing to team engineering practices
- Playtesting features and proactively improving player experience
You will work across disciplines and have the opportunity to ship work directly to a passionate player community. The tech stack includes Roblox Lua scripting, backend services (AWS, Golang), analytics pipelines (Snowflake, Tableau), and collaboration tools (GitHub, Discord).

REQUIREMENTS:
- 1–3+ years of Roblox or relevant game development experience
- Strong foundation in CS fundamentals and problem-solving
- Experience shipping features or games in a production environment
- Excellent communication, ownership, and collaborative mindset
- Ability to work independently on feature development with moderate guidance
- Familiarity with version control and collaborative development workflows
Nice to Have:
- Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Engineering or equivalent experience working in a development team
- Shipped games or features on Roblox or similar platforms
- Game jam or modding experience
- Familiarity with live game systems (analytics, economy tuning, balancing)
- Experience optimizing performance in multiplayer or real-time systems
