Superhuman (which now includes Grammarly) is seeking a full-stack Software Engineer to join the Developer Experience team embedded within the Superhuman Docs business unit. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role focused on making other engineers faster and happier through internal tooling, process improvements, and developer velocity initiatives. You will serve as the embedded Developer Experience partner for Superhuman Docs, acting as a bridge between the central Engineering Platform team and the Docs engineers. Your responsibilities include: - Implementing platform team initiatives within the Docs codebase context, resolving issues autonomously, and escalating cross-team dependencies appropriately - Translating day-to-day developer friction and leadership priorities into a clear, prioritized DevX roadmap - Building full-stack internal tooling and self-service platforms tailored to how the Docs team works - Owning and enhancing CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling to make shipping code safe, fast, and reliable at high release cadence - Streamlining local development workflows across a hybrid monolith-and-microservices architecture - Working hands-on with build systems (Bazel or equivalents) and cloud-native infrastructure (Kubernetes) - Creating codebase-specific golden paths, templates, and documentation - Defining and tracking developer-productivity metrics to validate impact The Docs codebase processes hundreds of pull requests weekly, so improvements compound immediately and measurably. You'll work across a complex, high-velocity codebase where communication is half the job and curiosity is rewarded daily. Superhuman offers a hybrid working model with flexibility for focus time and in-person collaboration. The company is an AI productivity platform with over 40 million users, 50,000 organizations, and 3,000 educational institutions using its suite of apps and agents. QUALIFICATIONS: - Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience with meaningful full-stack exposure (front-end and back-end) - Proficiency in multiple programming languages (Go, Python, Java, TypeScript, or similar); ability to pick up new languages quickly - Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems, build tooling, and developer workflow automation - Experience with large-scale build systems such as Bazel or equivalent systems used at large engineering organizations - Comfort with cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized workflows (Kubernetes) - Experience working across hybrid monolith-and-microservices architectures with high-volume, complex release processes - Strong empathy and communication skills; this role is approximately 50% conversation and partnership - Genuine motivation to improve how other engineers work rather than shipping product features - Alignment with company values (EAGER: ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, remarkable; MOVE principles: move fast and learn faster, obsess about customer value, value impact over activity, embrace healthy disagreement rooted in trust)
