Salary: USD 127,100 - 185,000 / annual
Twitch is the world's largest live streaming platform, serving global communities around gaming, entertainment, music, sports, cooking, and more. The Data Platform team develops and operates the infrastructure that powers Twitch's data systems and decision-making across the organization.
In this role, you will be a software engineer on the Data Platform team, responsible for building the next generation of Twitch's data technology. The team handles over 200 billion events per day, forwarding live data to tens of systems and powering decisions at all levels of the company. You will work on tools that store, transform, move, and help teams understand data at massive scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing new capabilities in data warehouses and pipelines
- Improving the reliability, flexibility, and scalability of existing tools
- Collaborating on the team's vision as Twitch scales to the next petabyte of data
- Enhancing workflows using AI tooling
- Reviewing and shaping the work of peers in a collaborative engineering environment
You can work from either San Francisco, CA or Seattle, WA.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience as a Software Engineer
- Familiarity with scalability, concurrency, API design, data modeling, and distributed systems fundamentals
- Familiarity with AI coding tools
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience with Golang or Python
- Experience with distributed, highly available systems
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Open source contributions
