Base is a next-generation power company deploying distributed battery networks to transform the centralized electrical grid into a resilient, abundant system. The Core Experience team owns the member journey in software, from initial website visit through real-time app engagement.
In this role, you will own the full member journey end-to-end, building the platform and product that powers Base's expansion across multiple states. You'll architect and ship the discovery and checkout experience, ensuring accurate plans and pricing for every address across products and markets. You'll build the activation experience including photo submission, live status tracking, and internal tools that coordinate members, operators, utilities, and install crews. You'll transform live battery telemetry into clear in-app experiences—real-time outage status, self-explanatory billing, and battery performance metrics. You'll work across the full stack (database, API, UI), define success metrics, and partner closely with design, growth, deployments, and member support teams to build self-serve capabilities into the product.
Base operates with intensity and urgency as a startup where priorities shift quickly. You'll work in-person in Austin and be expected to hold a high bar for your own output and follow through on commitments.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of experience building production software in product or full-stack engineering roles
- Strong experience designing system architecture for complex web applications
- Track record of owning products or platforms from concept through launch and iteration
- Strong product judgment and ability to turn ambiguous ideas into shipped, useful products
- Ability to work across the stack and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams
- Ready to work with intensity and urgency, and to hold a high bar for your own output
