CircuitHub is reshaping electronics manufacturing with The Grid, a factory-scale robotics platform that dramatically improves efficiency in small-batch, high-mix electronics assembly. The company has raised $45M from top-tier investors including Plural, Y Combinator, and Google Ventures, is already profitable, and serves major customers including an EV maker and a top AI lab. In this role, you will own computer vision systems that power The Grid's manufacturing operations. Your responsibilities include: - Developing and improving automated optical inspection systems that detect missing, rotated, or wrongly placed parts and identify solder defects, working alongside AI agents. - Training and deploying models for reliable part detection in bins and trays, ensuring proper centering on nozzles and handling clumped or dropped picks. - Implementing fiducial detection, calibration, and image alignment for placements measured in fractions of a millimetre. - Building the data loop: deciding what to capture, creating labelling tools, and converting operator verdicts into training data. - Optimizing for speed by working with high-speed cameras and GPU capture pipelines to move vision processing closer to real-time performance. - Measuring and tracking accuracy in production, identifying error sources, and validating every change against historical results. The tech stack includes OpenCV, PyTorch and Lightning, ONNX Runtime on GPU, libtorch from Haskell, Basler GigE cameras via pylon, high-speed cameras with GPUDirect capture, Python and Haskell services, PostgreSQL, and Nix/NixOS. REQUIREMENTS: - Shipped computer vision systems into production (beyond notebooks). - Strong software engineering in Python, C++, or comparable language. - Mix of classical vision (geometry, calibration, template matching) and deep learning; ability to choose the right tool for each problem. - Experience with industrial or machine-vision cameras is a bonus. - Comfortable using coding agents to move faster and taking full ownership of their output. - Affinity for the physical world: lighting, lenses, and parts rotated by 90°.
