Safari AI is building computer vision AI to automate operations for leading enterprises in entertainment, retail, quick-service restaurants, and live venues. The company works with major clients including Merlin/Legoland, 7-Eleven, Tanger Outlets, Charlotte Hornets, and Tennessee Titans, using AI to measure, alert, and provide recommendations across their operations.
As a Software Engineer for Cloud Infrastructure, you will be a primary contributor to Safari AI's cloud infrastructure stack. You'll work in a small, focused team (approximately 10 people) on a project team of 1-3, taking ownership of singular projects and setting technical direction for the infrastructure. You'll practice engineering best practices in system design, coding, documentation, and communication. You'll collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to identify priorities, contribute to development process improvements, and help maintain and evolve the production systems that power the platform.
The role offers the opportunity to shape an early-stage, mission-driven startup and work with a proven founder (Ali Vahabzadeh, who has a successful exit track record) and experienced leadership team. The company is venture-funded and has invested several million dollars over three years developing technology and data pipelines, now ready to scale. You'll have the freedom and autonomy typical of early-stage startups while working on a product addressing a large market opportunity in computer vision for enterprise operations.
The engineering team is co-located in Vancouver, with company headquarters in Miami. The role emphasizes reading documentation, asking for help when uncertain, and seeing through the hype of modern AI to focus on measurable ROI.
