Rubrik is building Rubrik Agent Cloud, an enterprise platform to monitor, govern, and remediate AI agents. The company operates at the intersection of AI, distributed systems, and enterprise security, enabling organizations to operate production-grade AI agents at scale.
As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer on the Rubrik Agent Cloud team, you will be a key technical leader responsible for building, governing, and optimizing the multi-cloud foundation that powers the platform. You will drive strategy for securely and efficiently scaling services across multiple cloud providers including AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.
Key responsibilities include:
**Design and Govern Secure Cloud Foundations:**
- Drive end-to-end cloud onboarding for new business units, applications, and teams across multiple clouds
- Implement secure landing zones, multi-account/tenant structures, IAM policies, and governance frameworks
- Enforce tagging standards, resource hierarchy models, and governance frameworks to enable accountability, cost tracking, and lifecycle management
- Manage and evolve IAM, SSO, organizational/subscription/project policies, and role-based access controls across all clouds
**Embed Security and Compliance at Scale:**
- Design and implement security controls including encryption, KMS, VPC Service Controls, privileged access management, and audit logging
- Proactively address security vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and compliance gaps in collaboration with InfoSec teams
- Lead periodic compliance audits, cloud security assessments, and produce mitigation and remediation strategies
**Drive Automation, Efficiency, and Optimization:**
- Collaborate on development of Infrastructure-as-Code templates and automation pipelines using Terraform, CloudFormation, and CI/CD tools (Flux, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD)
- Continuously identify cost-optimization opportunities through rightsizing, storage tiering, idle resource elimination, and architecture reviews
This is a hands-on technical leadership role perfect for someone passionate about automation, security, and mentoring a growing team.
**Requirements:**
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of CloudOps, Engineering, or Software Architecture experience
- Deep expertise in at least one major public cloud (AWS or GCP) and familiarity with others (Azure, OCI)
- Expertise in multi-cloud IAM, organization/project design, security policies, logging/monitoring, and access controls
- Strong skills in automation and Infrastructure-as-Code using tools like Terraform, Python, and GitHub Actions
- Proven experience in cloud financial management and cost optimization strategies
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with a track record of mentoring other engineers
**Nice to Have:**
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (SOX, FedRAMP, SOC 2, ISO, HIPAA)
- Understanding of FedRAMP operational controls; past FedRAMP environment experience
- Experience at the intersection of infrastructure and product, working with product and backend engineers
- Experience proactively solving customer pain points at the infrastructure level
- Experience with modern performance programming languages (Go, Rust)
- Deep knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure via service mesh networking (Istio/LinkerD, Envoy, eBPF)
- Experience building systems for deployment in various external environments (customer cloud accounts, on-prem)
