Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America by combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing to help aerospace and defense companies build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and other mission-critical systems up to 10x faster and at significantly lower cost. The company recently closed a $1.37B Series D at a $7.87B valuation and is rapidly expanding its manufacturing footprint and Factory-as-a-Service platform.
You will join the Autonomous Factory Systems division, focusing on developing software interfaces for industrial machinery including mills, welding systems, forming equipment, and more. The Autonomous Factory Systems team builds the software that enables Hadrian's factories to sense, decide, and act autonomously, including the core robotics stack, orchestration between robots and manufacturing machines, and the hardware abstraction layer connecting software to floor equipment.
In this role, you will partner with robotics, mechanical, and controls engineers to bring advanced production systems from concept to operation and help execute the roadmap to scale Hadrian into a multi-factory company across the US.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop software to coordinate mechatronic devices for automated manufacturing cells
- Create human-machine interfaces that enable technicians to control and monitor automation on industrial machines
- Ensure seamless software integration of automated manufacturing systems into Hadrian factories
- Build data logging pipelines for connected devices that feed operational planning and factory scheduling
Requirements:
- 4+ years of software engineering experience with proficiency in Python, TypeScript, C#, or C++
- Strong ability and desire to work directly with hardware on the factory floor
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions with incomplete information and deliver complex systems on schedule
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience developing software to interface with physical systems in manufacturing, industrial automation, robotics, or 3D printing
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA or Profinet
- Backend TypeScript experience and comfort working across orchestration, machine interfaces, and data pipelines
