Mindtickle is hiring a Software Engineer for its Business Systems team, part of Business Technology & Security. You will own the full lifecycle of integrations, data pipelines, automations, and internal tools that connect Mindtickle's business systems—Salesforce, NetSuite, HRMS, Slack, and Google Cloud. This is a small, independent team without traditional Scrum ceremonies. You operate autonomously, taking defined requirements from stakeholders (GTM, Finance, People Success, IT, Legal, Security) and owning the technical path end-to-end: design, build, ship, and ongoing operations. Your time allocation: - Building (~50%): Integrations between business systems, data pipelines, automations to eliminate manual work, internal tools, lightweight services, and AI-backed workflows where appropriate. - Running it (~20%): Monitoring, alerting, incident response, and making inherited systems observable and documented. You own everything you build in production. - Technical evaluation (~15%): Prototyping to answer build-vs-buy decisions, integration feasibility studies, performance and security validation. - Migrations (~15%): Data migration, field mapping, cutover scripts, and platform replacements. A typical week involves writing Python with Claude Code, reading vendor API documentation, wiring REST and GraphQL APIs, debugging syncs, deploying to Cloud Run, shipping increments with demos, working through requirements with the Product Manager and Analyst, and triaging issues. Monthly, you deliver one meaningful capability live in production with monitoring, runbooks, and documentation. Tech stack: Python, Google Apps Script, Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud Scheduler, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Compute Engine), REST and GraphQL APIs, webhooks, OAuth and service-account authentication, Claude Code, Git and CI/CD. You will integrate with Salesforce, NetSuite, HRMS, Slack, Google Workspace, and the broader SaaS ecosystem. REQUIREMENTS: - 2–4 years building software, integrations, or automations in a professional environment - Strong Python and real fluency with APIs: authentication, rate limits, retries, idempotency, pagination, webhooks, event-driven patterns - Built integrations against SaaS APIs (not just configured through consoles or drag-and-drop platforms) - Hands-on cloud experience (GCP preferred; AWS or Azure acceptable) with ability to compose services beyond following tutorials - End-to-end ownership you can demonstrate: a system you designed, built, shipped, and operated; experience fixing production issues - Debugging across system boundaries when two systems disagree about the same record - Testing and verification instinct: you validate output through measurement, not just error-free execution - Fast learning on unfamiliar ground: you have picked up unknown stacks and shipped them - Clear written communication: design notes, runbooks, and documentation are integral to the role NICE TO HAVE: - Building AI agents, tool-use, and agentic workflows; MCP servers - Exposure to business systems (CRM, ERP, HRIS, ITSM) and the SaaS ecosystem - Data and pipeline work (BigQuery, ETL/ELT) - Infrastructure-as-code
