In this role, you will design, construct, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across the engineering team. You'll develop new features at scale, refine internal tooling and processes, and contribute to product and technical roadmaps. Key responsibilities include:
- Design, create, and maintain robust, efficient, and reliable backend services to meet the platform's evolving needs
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to architect and implement new services from inception to delivery
- Contribute to developing new features and capabilities that deliver substantial value to customers
- Work with various engineering and product teams to synchronize efforts and deliver cutting-edge solutions
- Craft and maintain user-facing technical documentation to enhance user understanding and facilitate adoption
- Play a pivotal role in shaping the company's engineering culture and maintaining high engineering standards
The tech stack includes Golang, Ruby, TypeScript (React + Node), Bigtable, Postgres/PostgreSQL, GCP Dataflow (Apache Beam), BigQuery, and Python.
Sardine is a remote-first company with a culture emphasizing performance over hours worked. The company values self-motivated individuals with extreme ownership and high growth orientation. While fully remote, you must reside in one of the specified Indian cities (Bangalore, Delhi, Gurugram, Chennai, Mumbai, or Pune) and maintain a home base in India.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of proven experience as a Software Engineer specializing in web backend development
- Proficiency in Golang is a significant advantage
- Additional experience in data engineering is highly desirable
- Track record of successfully delivering high-quality production services and systems
- Customer-centric approach with strong emphasis on empathy towards users
- Relevant industry experience, particularly in banking or fintech, and domain knowledge in fraud prevention or compliance
- Proficient in English for casual and formal communication
