Snowflake's Customer Experience Engineering Team is seeking a Software Engineer to join their growing ML and LLM-focused group. This team builds internal and external technologies that scale Snowflake's global support and sales organizations, empowering technical experts with advanced tools to resolve complex issues and drive customer success. The team specializes in software engineering, data-driven decisions, ML, and LLM-based solutions. Current focus areas include: developing and deploying LLM and agent-based architectures for streamlining troubleshooting; implementing large-scale evaluations to ensure quality and reliability of internal and external tools; designing intelligent workflows that eliminate bottlenecks; and using embeddings, LLMs, clustering, and agents to detect potential widespread issues more quickly. In this role, you will work closely with state-of-the-art LLM models, fine-tune them, develop agents, and apply various clustering, summarization, and embedding techniques. While the team typically uses high-level libraries (e.g., scikit or Snowflake's Cortex) rather than low-level matrix operations, prior ML experience is valuable. Key responsibilities include: - Develop and refine ML models critical to Snowflake's business - Design metrics and experiments to validate insights - Implement projects spanning the stack, including Java and Python services hosted in Snowflake and Kubernetes - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management and design - Deliver features requiring close coordination with partner teams - Participate in defining product vision and team planning - Identify problems, instrument relevant components, and implement solutions You will be part of a fast-growing company scaling to accelerate growth, working with people who challenge ordinary thinking and push the pace of innovation. Requirements: - B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent discipline - 3+ years of hands-on software engineering experience - 1+ years of working ML experience - Interest in state-of-the-art LLM-based solutions - Great communication skills (verbal and written) and interest in working with diverse peers and external developers - Genuine enjoyment of building great software and love of learning new things
