Salary: USD 119,500 - 180,000 / annual

You will join the Web Platform team responsible for content management architecture at SmartAsset. This team is building next-generation content management systems to create, serve, and innovate on the financial information that attracts users and builds the brand. You will work on both front-end and backend services while building and migrating the new content management system, collaborating closely with senior engineers and architects to design the future of content delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Being part of a dynamic engineering team that owns the technical and architectural domains of the web platform
- Participating in an Agile Scrum team responsible for running and scaling the website and other web products
- Collaborating with product teams and stakeholders to complete sprint commitments and triage issues
- Actively participating in key technical decisions, documenting technical improvements, and reshaping service delivery
- Guiding technical designs and ensuring successful implementation of the team's roadmap
- Driving learning and innovation with a "no challenge is too big" approach
- Demonstrating excellent communication skills in an asynchronous, fully remote environment
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience building, maintaining, and scaling highly available, performant web platforms with Java (or similar languages)
- Deep expertise in ReactJS and NodeJS for modular, modern web applications
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Proficiency with Git version control
- Experience designing and implementing complex cloud solutions, preferably AWS
- Proven ability to drive project and product success in Agile environments through strategic thinking, clear communication, and decisive action
- Passion for coaching and mentoring others while continuously improving yourself
- Ability to identify risks, create effective mitigations, and thrive in fast-paced, cross-functional teams with a startup mindset
Preferred experience:
- Knowledge of least privilege principle, application structure, and OOP patterns
- Experience working in or developing in a CI/CD environment
- Familiarity with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Knowledge of incident, release, problem, and change management processes
- Experience using or integrating headless WordPress or other Content Management tools
