Salary: USD 120,000 - 180,000 / annual
Lightyear builds software that automates telecom management for enterprise IT teams. The platform helps companies like Honeywell, Alo Yoga, Palo Alto Networks, and Louis Vuitton manage telecom procurement, network inventory, bill payment, and related operations. The company has raised nearly $65M from early investors in Roblox, Discord, Coupang, Robinhood, and Flexport.
As a Software Engineer, you will work directly with the CTO and VP of Product to build core components of Lightyear's IT automation platform. You'll contribute to designing robust engineering standards while working across the full stack. The tech stack includes React (frontend), Django Rest Framework (backend), Postgres (database), and AWS (hosting).
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and ship full-stack features end-to-end, from API design to UI, that improve the telecom lifecycle for enterprise IT teams
- Own problems wherever they live across the stack: backend logic, database design, frontend polish, or infrastructure
- Move fast and test hypotheses quickly rather than over-validating
- Contribute to product direction alongside leadership—engineers have a seat at the table
- Leverage AI tooling and techniques to accelerate your work, improve the product, and enable company-wide processes
This is a full-time, fully remote, salaried position with competitive compensation and significant promotion opportunities.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Proficiency in a modern frontend framework (React, Vue, etc.) and a server-side language (Python, Node, etc.)
- Comfortable with SQL databases, Docker, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
- Write tests and care about code quality, with good judgment about shipping vs. over-engineering
- Demonstrated ability to ramp quickly on unfamiliar technologies and domains
- Nice-to-have: Experience deploying AI/ML into production code
