Blissway is a lean, high-impact startup (under 30 people) that has built a technological lead in toll collection and highway safety over five years. As a Software Engineer, you will be a high-level individual contributor with real ownership from day one. Your responsibilities include:
- Ship production code for the core system that identifies millions of vehicles daily
- Scale proven prototypes into robust, high-volume systems handling edge-to-cloud logic
- Write software that runs on roadside hardware and cloud servers processing that data
- Integrate ML models that improve highway safety in real-time
- Work across the full stack, moving fluidly between ML models, hardware integration, and system optimization
- Collaborate with a small, brilliant engineering team in a fast-paced startup environment
The role demands ownership, adaptability, and comfort with ambiguity. You will be expected to work an average of 55 hours per week, with occasional 70+ hour bursts for major releases. The team values detail-obsessed engineers who can navigate the unpredictability of physical-world systems and who thrive in a lean environment where you help other teams when needed.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
- Portfolio demonstrating track record of building (side projects, open-source contributions)
- Startup mindset: self-directed, comfortable with ambiguity, figures out what's needed without step-by-step guidance
- Professional "owner" mentality with openness to feedback
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (TypeScript, Python, or C++ preferred, but not required)
- Ability to work effectively in a small, lean team environment
- Willingness to relocate to Denver or already based there
