ServiceNow's People Tech team is seeking a Software Engineer to configure, maintain, and develop solutions for their Applicant Tracking System (ATS). You'll work on candidate workflows, job posting templates, and recruiting pipelines that serve one of the world's most demanding customers: ServiceNow itself.
In this role, you will:
- Configure and maintain candidate workflows, job posting templates, and recruiting pipelines aligned with business requirements
- Build and maintain REST API integrations between Avature and core HR systems (ServiceNow, Workday, etc.)
- Develop dashboards and reports for recruiting KPIs including time-to-hire, candidate source quality, pipeline velocity, and diversity metrics
- Maintain sourcing modules, candidate experience features, and application processes to optimize recruiter efficiency
- Build middleware and data connectors to synchronize candidate data, job postings, and hiring outcomes across systems
- Conduct data audits and support ETL processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Manage job requisition processes, approval workflows, and recruiter tools within Avature
- Partner with Recruiting Operations and Data Technology teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Troubleshoot configuration and integration issues and optimize system performance
- Serve as subject matter expert on Avature capabilities and support user onboarding and change management
You'll be proving what's possible on the ServiceNow platform at scale, building experiences that touch every employee daily with measurable impact.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of experience in ATS administration, configuration, or development (or equivalent platform experience)
- Hands-on experience configuring applicant tracking systems (Avature preferred; Workday, Greenhouse, or iCIMS acceptable)
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and data integration patterns; ability to read API documentation and build point-to-point connectors
- SQL or similar query language experience for reporting and data extraction
- Configuration mindset: comfortable with both low-code configuration tools and scripting/coding for custom solutions
- Problem-solving across technical and business domains; ability to translate recruiting workflows into system requirements
- Clear communication skills to document technical solutions and present to non-technical stakeholders
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience with JSON, JavaScript, or scripting languages
- Background in HR systems, HRIS platforms, or recruiting technology
- Exposure to data governance and compliance (GDPR, CCPA)
- Experience with integration platforms (MuleSoft, Zapier, custom webhooks) or middleware
- Familiarity with agile development practices
- Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity; detail-oriented with strong documentation habits
- Collaborative across HR, IT, and vendor teams; proactive learner willing to grow Avature expertise on the job
