Join Airbnb's Analytics Infrastructure team as a backend/fullstack software engineer on the Analytics Products team. The Analytics Infrastructure team's mission is to enable universal data-informed decision-making at Airbnb by providing an integrated suite of analytics frameworks, services, and applications.
You will build data tools that enable data practitioners to efficiently explore and analyze data to create insights. The team manages data products used by 7,000 monthly active users, including Apache Superset, a Notebook tool, and an AI for Data chat product, along with integrations within Airbnb's data platform infrastructure like their in-house Metric system, which enables metric consistency at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Shape the future of Apache Superset through open source collaboration, internal user engagement, and direct code contributions. You'll plug into the open source community's releases, roadmap, and operational processes to help drive new improvements and features that scale for Airbnb's user base.
- Collaborate with other data platform teams to build integrations of data tools with Airbnb's data platform ecosystem, including the metric infrastructure, data management platform, data warehouse infrastructure, and related services.
- Maintain a high quality bar for data tools to ensure stability and reliability for Airbnb's data practitioners.
- Build new features to support user workflows within data products and their integrations within the data platform ecosystem.
- Prepare, test, and release Superset OSS official releases internally for Airbnb.
- Engage directly with users of products your team owns—you'll drive projects end-to-end, gather user feedback, collaborate with product managers, and create and manage feature rollout plans and migrations.
- Contribute to maintaining a high technical quality bar by identifying quality or architecture improvements, improving testability and observability, and reviewing others' code and technical designs.
- Support the team's operations via lightweight on-call support.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of full-time, relevant industry experience with expertise in building backend services in Python.
- Expertise with frontend development (HTML, CSS, TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks such as React) is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with data (SQL, Data Engineering) or big data technology is a plus (e.g., Airflow, Spark, Trino).
- Experience in some combination of internal application development, data infrastructure, and analytics engineering is a plus.
- Appetite for high-quality code and robust systems, including observability and reliability.
- Ability to drive cross-functional projects or migrations, including alignment, collaboration, and rollout with partner teams and users.
- Passion for building interactive and delightful user experiences and engaging with users.
