The company automates accounting workflows—journal entries, transaction matching, reconciliations, and flux analysis—while keeping humans in control: accountants review and approve all work before it posts. As a Software Engineer - AI, you will work at the intersection of AI systems and product, building the agentic workflows that power enterprise accounting automation. This is not pure research; the focus is turning modern AI capabilities into reliable, production-ready systems that customers depend on daily in financial workflows where accuracy is non-negotiable. You'll work closely with product, design, and engineering to ship end-to-end features and help shape how AI is developed, tested, and deployed across the company.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and iterate on prompts, evaluations, and model interfaces
- Build and orchestrate agent workflows
- Integrate AI components deeply into product and infrastructure
- Make AI-driven systems reliable and scalable in high-stakes financial workflows
- Ship end-to-end features collaboratively with product, design, and engineering
The engineering team includes staff-level talent from Robinhood, Glean, Google, Netflix, and Meta. The system handles high-volume financial data and complex accounting workflows where every execution must be accurate and reliable.
The role is based in the San Mateo office with an expectation of in-office presence four to five days per week.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 or more years building product at high-growth companies
- Familiarity with the latest AI developments, practices, and frameworks
- Familiarity with web development, relational databases, and distributed systems
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with data pipelines, mission-critical systems such as fintech, or complex workflow engines
