Join UiPath's Vertical Solutions team to build an AI agentic orchestration platform recognized as the company's Invention of the Year for two consecutive years. As a Software Engineer 2, you'll work on the core orchestration engine that powers enterprise AI automation, enabling enterprises to seamlessly orchestrate AI agents, robots, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
You will design, develop, and maintain full-stack solutions for Vertical Solutions products, leveraging AI coding assistants in your daily workflow. Your responsibilities include writing production-quality code, prototyping and shipping features validated with real customers, measuring system quality against real customer data, and translating customer needs into elegant technical solutions. You'll contribute to building highly scalable, reliable distributed systems that enterprises depend on.
The Vertical Solutions team operates like an internal startup within UiPath: small teams, fast iteration, and real customers in the loop. You'll work in short cycles, demo frequently, and adapt as you learn. The role emphasizes solving the right problem over protecting outdated plans, with a focus on ambiguity, rapid feedback, and building where product boundaries move fast.
Tech stack includes Python and/or C# for backend (agents, APIs, ETL), React for frontend, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP). You'll work with modern tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of software engineering experience focused on distributed systems and backend architecture
- Strong proficiency in system-level languages (JavaScript, C#, Java, or similar)
- Full-stack experience: backend services, frontend layers (REST/GraphQL APIs, basic UI integration)
- Deep understanding of object-oriented programming, architectural design patterns, system design, data structures, and algorithms
- Experience with React, TypeScript, or modern frontend frameworks
- Strong grasp of multithreading, asynchronous programming, synchronization, and cloud-native programming models
- Hands-on experience with cloud ecosystems (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalent containerization/orchestration
- Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) and ability to integrate into daily workflows
- Experience driving team adoption of AI-powered productivity tools
- Familiarity with agile development, CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure as code
- Excellent verbal and written communication; proven success with globally distributed teams
- Ability to understand and drive complex technical decisions with stakeholders
- Production AI systems experience: LLMs, tool-calling, multi-agent architectures, orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain), structured outputs, and evaluation of model behavior
- Distributed systems design: idempotency, replay ability, state management, long-running jobs
- Strong analytical thinking and quantitative reasoning about system quality
- Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid prototyping
NICE TO HAVE:
- Healthcare Tech, Finance Tech, or Procurement Tech systems experience
- Data science and evaluation expertise
- Applied ML techniques (classification, anomaly detection, ranking, predictive modeling)
- Experience evaluating AI systems using experimentation and empirical analysis
- Large-scale data platforms (Snowflake, columnar warehouses)
- Retrieval-heavy architectures, RAG systems, or citation-grounded AI workflows
- Blending deterministic and probabilistic systems (rules engines + AI)
- Eval-driven systems, regression testing for LLM outputs, human-in-the-loop workflows
- Workflow orchestration platforms (Temporal, Airflow, Maestro, BPMN, Step Functions)
- Startup, applied research, or 0→1 product environment experience
- Open-source contributions
