- Integrate Android test automation into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or similar platforms
- Execute automated tests across Android emulators and physical devices
- Partner with Android engineers to improve application testability and automation coverage
- Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and improve automation stability and reliability
- Validate application behavior across different Android versions, device types, and configurations
- Contribute to mobile automation architecture, tooling standards, and testing best practices
- Identify gaps in automated coverage and prioritize high-value scenarios for automation
- Evaluate and adopt new Android automation tools and technologies
- Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms to improve test development, debugging, root-cause analysis, documentation, and workflow efficiency
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in software testing, SDET, or test automation roles, including significant Android automation experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Android automation frameworks such as Espresso, UI Automator, Appium, or similar tools
- Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable automated test frameworks
- Experience with Android Studio, Gradle, and Android build workflows
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Experience testing native Android applications across emulators and physical devices
- Strong understanding of Android application lifecycle, permissions, background processes, and platform-specific behavior
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working closely with software engineers to improve testability and resolve complex defects
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across Engineering, Product, and QA teams
- Ability and willingness to use AI-assisted tools effectively to improve automation development, debugging, analysis, and documentation
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Due to this role's involvement in FedRAMP environments, qualified candidates must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based mobile device testing platforms such as Firebase Test Lab, BrowserStack, or Sauce Labs
- Experience with Jetpack Compose testing
- Familiarity with Android accessibility, performance, or network-condition testing
- Experience testing authentication, biometrics, passkeys, MFA, or other security-sensitive mobile workflows
- Experience testing cybersecurity, identity, or password management applications
