As a Software Development Engineer in Test II, you will ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise-level applications, particularly within financial and backend systems. You will act as a quality advocate, designing comprehensive testing strategies, developing automation frameworks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning end-to-end QA activities: requirement analysis, test planning, execution, and reporting
- Designing, developing, and maintaining automated test cases for APIs and backend systems
- Defining and implementing test strategies, frameworks, and processes to improve testing efficiency and coverage
- Performing manual and automated testing for enterprise-class, financial, middleware, and backend applications
- Executing API testing using Postman and automating with Rest Assured and Java
- Conducting UI testing and automation using Selenium WebDriver
- Writing and executing SQL queries for data validation and backend verification
- Debugging application issues using server logs and backend diagnostics
- Coordinating testing activities across application enhancements and technical operations
- Participating in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
- Tracking defects and managing test cases using JIRA, ALM, TestRail, or X-Ray
- Communicating project status, risks, progress, KPIs, and quality metrics to stakeholders
- Collaborating with Technology Leads, Product Managers, and Business Teams to align testing strategies with business goals
Requirements:
- 5–8 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Testing, with at least 2 years of hands-on automation experience
- Strong expertise in manual testing of enterprise and financial applications, including middleware and backend systems
- Proficiency in API testing tools such as Postman and SOAP UI
- Hands-on experience in API automation using Rest Assured with Java
- Familiarity with UI testing and automation tools like Selenium WebDriver
- Strong knowledge of SQL for writing and understanding complex queries and stored procedures
- Experience working with Unix/Linux environments
- Exposure to backend automation, batch job testing, and log-based debugging
- Good understanding of Agile methodologies and QA best practices
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (JIRA, ALM, TestRail, X-Ray)
- Knowledge of AWS or cloud platforms (preferred)
- Understanding of financial systems, payment gateways, e-wallets, and related workflows
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and ownership mindset
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Working knowledge of Agentic AI with Github Copilot or relevant AI tools
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Relevant certifications in QA, Automation Testing, or Agile methodologies (preferred)
