Mechademy is transforming predictive analytics for rotating machinery through its flagship platform, Turbomechanica, which integrates applied physics with advanced machine learning to detect equipment failures before they occur. The company serves enterprise clients in the oil and gas industry, helping them maximize uptime, extend asset life, and reduce operational risks.
As a Software Development Engineer, you will design, build, and own features on a secure, multi-tenant platform used by enterprise clients globally. Your responsibilities span four key areas:
**Platform Development**: Design and build features including authentication, access control, auditability, web and mobile experiences, and APIs that enable other systems to safely work with platform data.
**Monitoring & Workflows**: Build systems that turn detected issues into alerts, escalations, and tracked actions. Develop tooling to help engineers prioritize, investigate, and resolve issues faster while working with large volumes of time series sensor data.
**Reliability Engineering**: Add alerting, health checks, and dashboards to catch problems proactively. Own features from design through production deployment.
**Engineering Quality**: Write clean, tested code with comprehensive documentation. Participate in design and code reviews, and maintain high standards throughout the development lifecycle.
You'll work in two-week sprints using Git, GitHub, CI/CD, and ClickUp, leveraging modern developer tooling including AI coding assistants. No industrial or mechanical background is required—domain engineers will teach you how turbines and compressors fail. You'll have a squad buddy to get you productive in 30 days and own a part of the platform within 6 months. The role offers mentorship from senior engineers and domain experts with decades of equipment experience, with a clear growth path from SDE-1 to SDE-2.
