Salary: CAD 234,880 - 293,600 / annual
Twilio is seeking a Software Architect for Enterprise AI to define and drive the vision, software architecture, and establish AI/ML platforms across all business functions internally at Twilio. This includes Marketing, Sales, Customer Support, Global Operations, HR/People, Finance, Legal, Security, and Privacy.
As a key technical leader in the Enterprise AI Engineering group, you will provide architectural guidance globally across U.S., Canada, Colombia, and India teams. You will be responsible for shaping long-term technical vision, establishing architectural standards and guardrails, and defining best practices for modern AI-Assisted SDLC. You will drive cross-organizational initiatives, solve complex and ambiguous technical challenges, and partner with other Cross-BU Software Architects to elevate technical standards company-wide.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establish and model a high-performance culture of the Software Engineering team
- Grow and mentor senior technical leaders, building a durable culture of engineering excellence
- Lead architecture for the Enterprise AI engineering platform and products, ensuring consistency and quality through cross-product reviews and shared standards
- Partner closely with product, engineering, and executive partners to shape strategic direction
- Own the most complex engineering problems at enterprise scale
- Present to executive leadership on AI Engineering plans and deliverables
- Work across different verticals (Support, Sales, Marketing, Operations, etc.) to ideate, develop, and implement new AI/ML solutions that drive business growth
- Cultivate a team of builders and owners that collaborate, grow, and continuously improve together
You will guide technical blueprints, mentor developers, and partner with program managers, designers, full-stack developers, and AI/ML engineers. This role requires experience across the software lifecycle from architecture, design, development, deployment, and maintenance of modern cloud applications. You will have a strong sense of ownership for engineering products and possess deep technical background to drive constant growth and innovation.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 15+ years of experience designing and scaling distributed systems and platforms
- Demonstrated ability to set technical vision and strategy at an enterprise or company-wide level
- Expertise in system design, reliability, scalability, security, and cost optimization for large-scale architectures
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and resolving highly complex, ambiguous technical problems
- Proven record of mentoring senior engineering talent and elevating organizational standards
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, influence, and leadership skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
