BIT (formerly Matrixport) is a global digital asset financial services and infrastructure group headquartered in Singapore. The company manages over $7 billion in assets and facilitates more than $7 billion in monthly trading volume, offering custody, trading, asset and wealth management, liquidity and financing solutions, and tokenized real-world assets (RWA) to institutional and professional investors globally.
Matrixdock, BIT's real-world asset tokenization platform, is seeking a Smart Contract Engineer to join the core smart contract team. You will own the on-chain systems that carry real assets, including tokenized gold (XAUm), tokenized silver (XAGm), and short-term treasury bill tokens (STBT). XAUm is fully backed 1:1 by LBMA-accredited gold bars and is live on Ethereum, BSC, Solana, Sui, and other major chains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and ship core smart contracts for tokenized RWA products
- Build and maintain protocol implementations across EVM chains (Ethereum, BSC, Tron) and non-EVM chains (Solana, Sui, Stellar), adapting designs to each chain's native model
- Enable multi-chain issuance and cross-chain transfers through messaging protocols such as LayerZero and CCIP
- Build contract security and governance frameworks including access control, timelocked operations, and upgradeable architecture (UUPS proxy)
- Develop deep understanding of leading DeFi protocols (Uniswap, Aave) and own third-party protocol integrations
- Write secure, gas-efficient contract code with high test coverage; drive third-party security audits and remediate findings
- Build on-chain monitoring and operations tooling to detect anomalous events around fund-sensitive operations
- Stay current with EIPs, new chain features, and industry security incidents
- Contribute to overall blockchain systems architecture and provide technical guidance to team members
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years in smart contract development
- Strong proficiency in at least one major blockchain platform (Ethereum, Solana, or Sui) with hands-on smart contract development in Solidity, Rust, or Move
- Deep understanding of your chain's execution model, gas mechanics, and storage layout
- Practical experience with upgradeable contracts, including performing live upgrades
- Proficiency with mainstream development frameworks (Hardhat/Foundry, Anchor, Sui CLI) with solid engineering practices across testing, fuzzing, deployment, and on-chain verification
- Deep understanding of smart contract security best practices; able to identify and prevent common attacks (reentrancy, access-control bypass, price manipulation, front-running)
- Experience working with security auditors and remediating findings
- Familiarity with OpenZeppelin contracts library and design principles behind security components (AccessControl, TimelockController, Pausable)
- Solid understanding of DeFi building blocks: AMMs, oracles, and asset-pegging mechanisms
- Working knowledge of digital signatures and on-chain signature verification (EIP-712, replay protection)
- Good grasp of blockchain fundamentals
- Strong sense of ownership; able to own core modules end-to-end with minimal supervision
- Strong communicator with ability to write clear technical documentation
- Security-first mindset: rigorous, detail-oriented, and accountable for institutional-grade asset contracts
Nice to Have:
- Experience building contracts for reserve-backed or pegged assets (PAXG, XAUt, wBTC, USDC), stablecoins, or RWA projects
- Familiarity with non-EVM stacks (Rust for Solana Anchor/Soroban or Move for Sui/Aptos)
- Experience shipping one protocol across multiple chains
- Familiarity with cross-chain messaging protocols (LayerZero, Wormhole, CCIP, Axelar)
- Experience with DEX integrations or concentrated liquidity market making (CLMM)
- Public audit reports, bug bounty records, CTF achievements, or open-source contract projects
- Experience integrating oracles such as Chainlink and implementing safeguards against price manipulation
- Professional fluency in English for direct communication with audit firms and ecosystem partners
