Rent the Runway is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join its Platform Engineering team at the European Technology Hub in Galway, Ireland. In this role, you will spearhead technology initiatives in cloud infrastructure, software delivery, and observability. You will be responsible for building and developing tooling, policies, and processes to advance RTR to higher levels of scale and performance, leading assigned projects and delivering operational excellence through system automation, self-service, and developer tooling. Key responsibilities include: - Utilize configuration-as-code tools like Terraform, Python, Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes, along with GCP services to drive service reliability - Implement software development practices to build observability, alerting, tracing, automation, and self-healing capabilities to maintain high platform availability - Perform end-to-end coordination across platforms, supporting identification, response, and reporting of issues, then escalating to respective teams for remediation - Develop maintenance and operations automation through CI/CD pipelines - Participate in on-call rotation, troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analyses, and share insights with engineering and operations teams The Platform Engineering team is reliability-focused and relentlessly passionate about making the closet-in-the-cloud a reality. The team practices continuous improvement and process management techniques, working cross-functionally to support IT, Engineering, Product, Security, Compliance, and Business departments. Rent the Runway is transforming the fashion industry through circular fashion and subscription-based access to designer apparel and accessories. The Galway office, established in April 2019, is RTR's first international technology hub outside the US. The role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week in the Galway office with the option to work 2 days remotely. Requirements: - 5+ years of hands-on experience with orchestration tools such as Kubernetes - At least 3 years of experience maintaining production environments across cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) - 5+ years of software development experience using programming languages such as Bash, Python, Golang, or Java - Advanced skills in Terraform, Helm, or Ansible, with solid understanding of CI/CD tools like GitHub and Artifactory - Practical experience with monitoring, alerting, and logging tools including Splunk or GCP Monitoring - Demonstrated enthusiasm for developing and improving CI/CD processes for cloud infrastructure - Proven track record of enhancing existing systems, building robust infrastructure, and automating processes - Experience working within Agile teams, adhering to sprint cadences and delivery timelines - Strong problem-solving skills with ability to triage issues and conduct root-cause analyses - Ability to drive Site Reliability Engineering practices among development and operations teams - Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and troubleshoot production issues
