Greenhouse is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to join the Datastores team within the Platform domain. This role focuses on building and scaling production datastore infrastructure across all products while creating self-service tooling that enables product teams to manage datastores end-to-end. You will extend the self-service datastore platform with provisioning automation and guardrails, ship observability, alerting, and backup/disaster recovery as built-in defaults without manual intervention, and convert recurring operational work (reliability issues, scaling questions, schema-change safety) into reusable platform features or AI tooling. You'll codify compliance, capacity management, and cost management into the platform itself, and support the operational needs of the growing database fleet alongside product engineering teams. The ideal candidate is a platform builder who prefers creating self-service tooling over being a bottleneck, an automator who defaults to scripting and codifying manual work, and a database generalist comfortable with RDS, Redis, OpenSearch, and Kubernetes-hosted datastores. You think in defaults with observability, alerting, and backup/DR built in from day one, and you're fluent with AI coding tools like Claude. Greenhouse is a remote-first company with shared office spaces in New York City and Ireland, and optional co-working spaces. The company is committed to using AI responsibly while keeping people at the center, and has been recognized as one of Fortune's Best Places to Work and Inc.'s Best Workplaces. REQUIREMENTS: - 3+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a similar infrastructure-focused role - Proven track record directly managing or building common tooling to support production infrastructure in both AWS and Kubernetes - Experience building and delivering working software to production (tooling, platform, or product-facing services) - Strong fluency with AI coding tools like Claude - Must be legally eligible to work in Canada; sponsorship not available
