EngFlow is a cloud-based platform that accelerates software builds and tests through remote execution and caching. Founded by key contributors to Bazel, the company helps developers and engineering teams—from startups to Fortune 500 companies—improve build performance by a factor of 10 or more, while providing observability insights for optimization.
You will join the platform engineering team as a Senior Engineer, serving as a critical member of the global infrastructure hub. This is not a traditional on-call role; you will be a strategic contributor to platform reliability and product evolution. You will work closely with team members distributed across multiple time zones, with a focus on supporting the Australian business day, while also helping to grow and mentor a local team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary responder for high-priority production incidents during Australian business hours, owning incident resolution and follow-up.
- Partner with the core product team to identify recurring support patterns and develop targeted fixes and feature enhancements.
- Participate in daily handovers with EMEA and US teams to ensure seamless operational continuity across regions.
- Foster a collaborative culture through knowledge sharing, code reviews, and mentorship of team members.
- Document complex technical issues clearly for a global, asynchronous audience.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in SRE, DevOps, or high-level Product Support roles.
- Proficiency with AWS or GCP cloud platforms.
- Strong familiarity with Bazel, gRPC, and at least one of Java, Golang, or Python.
- Team-first mindset with deep understanding that local success depends on collective health and communication across the AU pod and broader organization.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with ability to document and explain complex technical issues for distributed teams.
