You will be a Senior Backend Engineer responsible for building the core digital infrastructure for this next-generation energy company. Working remotely and closely with product teams, you'll architect and develop backend systems that power the company's operations at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Constructing a real-time digital twin of renewable generation and customer demand
- Developing messaging interfaces with third-party providers
- Building high-volume pipelines for processing customer energy consumption data
- Building the backend of a consumer-facing energy application
- Taking ownership of projects, adapting to evolving business needs, and driving technical change
You will work on highly available production systems that directly impact the company's ability to deliver energy solutions to customers. This is a hands-on role requiring deep technical expertise and the ability to design and ship complex systems.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrable excellence as a software engineer
- Ideally 2+ years of professional experience
- Proven ability to define and build complex systems
- Hands-on experience shipping highly available production systems
- Clear communication skills
- Bonus qualifications: infrastructure as code (e.g., AWS CDK); experience in the energy sector; experience shipping consumer-facing products
