Salary: USD 150,000 - 185,000 / annual
Kodiak Robotics is seeking a Senior Vehicle Integration Engineer to lead system-level integration of next-generation autonomous vehicle platforms. Founded in 2018, Kodiak has become a leader in autonomous ground transportation for commercial trucking and the public sector, delivering freight daily using its AI-powered technology stack. The company made history in 2024 as the first known company to publicly announce delivering a driverless semi-truck to a customer, and is also developing autonomous capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense.
In this role, you will lead the full integration lifecycle for new platform development programs, from early-stage concept through validation and deployment. You will drive system-level integration of sensors, compute, actuation, and vehicle systems; develop and execute structured test plans to validate platform functionality, performance, and reliability; and coordinate cross-functional build and integration events with Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Systems teams. You will provide Design-For-Manufacturing and Design-For-Test feedback to ensure platforms are built for quality and scale, develop comprehensive platform documentation including drawings, schematics, BOMs, and test reports, and identify and resolve integration issues through systematic debugging and root cause analysis. You will partner with systems and hardware engineering teams to define integration requirements and acceptance criteria.
This is a hands-on role requiring both technical depth and leadership. You will work at the forefront of autonomous vehicle development, managing complex multi-disciplinary integration challenges and driving teams to deliver results.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS or MS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of experience in autonomous vehicles, automotive, or related industry
- Demonstrated experience leading new platform or new product integration programs from early development through validation
- Strong systems thinking and problem-solving skills; energized by complex, multi-disciplinary integration challenges
- Hands-on technical capability with automotive electronics, communication protocols (Ethernet, CAN), and tools
- Experience with scripting and data analysis languages such as Python or MATLAB
- Understanding of Linux-based systems and computer networking
- CAD experience with packages such as SolidWorks
- Proven team leadership, whether formal or informal, on multiple integration or development programs
- Excellent technical communication and documentation skills
- Proven ability to drive testing through development, execution, analysis, corrective actions, and final report-outs
