Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Maritime Division is scaling at historic pace, anchored by Arsenal-2, a new software-defined shipyard in Baltimore County, Maryland, part of a $6.6 billion investment in America's submarine industrial base. The Proto-Factory in Orange County, California serves as the prototyping hub for Arsenal-2, proving out advanced manufacturing methods, digital workflows, and quality systems. In this role, you will lead mechanical analysis for a maritime autonomous vehicle, reporting to the Structures Lead. You will own the structural and thermal analyses for pressure, fatigue, and environmental loading across the full design envelope. The structure must survive full-depth pressure cycling, marine corrosion, and fatigue over the vehicle's service life while staying light enough to meet buoyancy and endurance targets—balancing three competing demands. Key responsibilities include: - Own structural mechanical and thermal analysis for the vehicle - Perform structural analysis: FEA, hand calculations, and buckling analysis - Verify structural interfaces with propulsion, buoyancy, energy, and payload systems - Drive trade studies balancing strength, weight, corrosion, and cost - Support prototype builds and structural test campaigns - Contribute to design reviews (PDR, CDR) and documentation - Travel up to 25% to test sites and manufacturing facilities REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent - 5+ years of experience in structural design and analysis for marine, aerospace, or robotic systems - Proficiency with analysis tools (Nastran, ANSYS, Abaqus, or equivalent) - Experience with materials selection for corrosive or high-pressure environments - Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience with submarine structures - Familiarity with ABS or DNV structural design codes
