As Senior Staff Electro-Optic Systems Architect, you will be a key technical leader responsible for designing and validating the electrical-optical-electrical (E-O-E) links in Passage, ensuring they meet customer requirements for high-volume production. You will partner with external-facing teams and internal engineering groups to deliver groundbreaking photonics architecture solutions. Key responsibilities include: - Creative problem-solving on high-performance electro-optic architecture for high-volume products - End-to-end E-O-E system-level link design using Cadence photonics-analog simulators (Verilog-A, Spectre, Virtuoso), VPI Photonics, and Keysight ADS - Co-design of silicon photonic devices with photonics and architecture teams based on simulation results - Model validation through high-speed RF experiments, proof-of-concept testing, and data analysis - Cross-functional collaboration with electronics and photonics engineers on circuit specification, design, and validation - Documentation and presentation of contributions to internal and external stakeholders - Representation of the company at technical conferences to demonstrate technical leadership You will work in a tight-knit environment where individual contributions directly influence product success, solving groundbreaking challenges in building a new kind of computer from the ground up. Requirements: - Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline with minimum 5 years relevant experience, OR Master's degree with minimum 8 years relevant experience - Minimum 3 years experience in electronic-photonic-electronic systems simulation - Minimum 2 years experience in hardware testing and measurements of photonic high-speed optical modulators and receivers - Proficiency in Cadence photonics-analog simulators (Virtuoso, Spectre, Verilog-A), Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS - High proficiency in coding simulations using Python or Matlab - High proficiency in RF/mm-wave analog circuit design - High proficiency in modeling optical communication links - Experience with corner analysis and Monte Carlo analysis - Experience collaborating with photonics and electronics teams Preferred qualifications include product development or industry project experience, silicon photonic integrated circuit design and test experience, knowledge of signal processing and signal integrity in optical communications, SERDES and mixed signal interface knowledge, strong publication record, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to learn quickly with a self-starter mindset.
