In this Senior Fullstack Engineer role, you will own the end-to-end development of features across Metropolis's mobility platform. You will work independently to design, develop, and maintain systems spanning database schemas, backend APIs, and user interfaces. Your responsibilities include:
• Independently design, develop, and maintain features across the full technology stack from database to frontend
• Fully own projects from inception to production, ensuring high-quality delivery and rapid iteration
• Partner with UX designers, product managers, and cross-functional engineering teams to align on technical requirements and deliver exceptional user experiences
• Ensure system performance and scalability to handle high-throughput environments across parking, aviation, and fleet management
• Champion best practices in coding, testing, and deployment to ensure robust, maintainable solutions
• Mentor junior engineers, promoting a culture of learning and growth within the team
• Participate in technical discussions, evaluate new tools and frameworks, and drive continuous platform improvement
You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where you solve real business problems with high autonomy. The role requires 4 days per week in-office in Seattle to foster innovation and strengthen team culture.
REQUIREMENTS:
• MS or BS in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
• 6+ years of experience building scalable applications in both frontend and backend environments
• Proven experience providing technical direction and leadership for a team of engineers
• Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) with strong understanding of frontend design principles
• Extensive experience with backend technologies (Node.js, Python, Ruby, or Java) and RESTful API development
• Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL databases
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience working in agile environments with cross-functional teams
• Ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
PLUS (not required):
• Experience coding in Scala
• Experience with serverless architecture and microservices
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Exposure to high-volume, consumer-facing applications
• Understanding of computer vision or artificial intelligence technologies
