Backed by Khosla Ventures and led by industry veterans from PayPal, Square, and Cash App, the company provides AI-powered personalized financial insights, instant access to cash, and credit-building tools.
As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Trust Platform team, you will design and build core backend systems that power fraud detection, authentication, decisioning, and customer data management. You'll own systems end-to-end from architecture through deployment, building high-performance, secure, and reusable services that product teams depend on to manage risk and deliver consistent customer experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and scale backend systems end-to-end, creating high-performance, secure, and reusable services
- Lead greenfield development on new capabilities such as fraud signal pipelines, unified notifications services, and intelligent decisioning layers
- Partner cross-functionally with product, design, data science, and engineering teams to build trust and safety features that balance risk management with seamless user experience
- Lead critical technical and design discussions across fraud detection, authentication, and customer data domains
- Scope, build, and optimize intelligent services that protect users from fraud while ensuring secure, personalized interactions
The company expects employees to work in-office five days per week to foster collaboration and strong culture, though flexibility is available when circumstances require.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience designing, building, and scaling high-performance backend systems in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Expertise in architecting and productionizing large-scale distributed systems
- Comfortable working across multiple technical areas and collaborating with frontend/mobile teams
- Passion for tackling complex challenges with structured thinking and analytical rigor; ability to break down intricate systems, identify flaws, and implement scalable, secure, maintainable solutions
- Thrives in fast-moving, iterative environments with bias for action; excited to take full ownership of projects and drive impact cross-functionally
- Strong understanding of data privacy, compliance, and secure coding practices; experience designing resilient systems meeting high security and regulatory standards
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with lending, credit cards, payments, or other financial services products
- Familiarity with mobile app ecosystems and financial technology
