Sentry is an application monitoring platform trusted by 200,000+ organizations. The Telemetry Experience team owns the product surfaces and APIs where telemetry data becomes actionable for developers to debug issues. In this role, you will own end-to-end projects across Sentry's full stack: React and TypeScript on the frontend, Python/Django and PostgreSQL on the backend. You'll take problems from customer feedback through scoping, design, implementation, rollout, and measurement. Your responsibilities include: - Owning projects end to end, writing design docs, breaking work into shippable pieces, and measuring impact - Working across the full Sentry monolith, making architectural decisions at the seam between frontend and backend - Partnering closely with SDK and ingest teams to shape data contracts and ensure telemetry arrives as intended - Collaborating daily with product managers, designers, and other engineers to refine user experience, focusing on details like empty states, error messages, loading behavior, and edge cases - Solving problems for developer customers by understanding their workflows and identifying what they truly need versus what they ask for You'll thrive in this role if you prefer owning outcomes over tickets, are obsessed with smooth user experiences, communicate well in writing, and enjoy full-stack work without handoffs. The position requires driving non-trivial projects across team boundaries and following through after launch. QUALIFICATIONS: - 5+ years of professional experience building and shipping full-stack web applications - Strong experience with React and TypeScript, and with Python (Django or similar) backed by a relational database such as PostgreSQL; depth in one area and real competence in the other is acceptable - Track record of driving non-trivial projects end to end, including securing buy-in from other teams - Excellent written and spoken English communication skills - Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools to enhance productivity and code quality BONUS: - Familiarity with application monitoring and observability space - Experience building developer-facing products, SDKs, or public APIs - Experience with high-volume data stores or streaming systems (ClickHouse, Kafka) - Track record of open-source contributions
