You'll join the Vault Platform team as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, ensuring the scalability and reliability of enterprise applications serving hundreds of global customers across North America, Europe, and Asia. This role combines deep backend engineering expertise with operational leadership and mentorship responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build cloud infrastructure from scratch using software development best practices
- Drive platform reliability and scalability for 2M+ users globally
- Lead incident triage and mitigation efforts; perform periodic on-call duty for escalations
- Develop automation tools to eliminate manual work and reduce resolution times
- Conduct full-stack diagnostics to identify root causes of production issues
- Partner strategically with engineering teams on complex, scale-critical problems
- Participate in design reviews and drive operational efficiency initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and QA
- Work across multiple technology stack layers with primary backend focus
- Mentor team members and contribute to a high-performing environment
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences during outages

Requirements:
- 5+ years of Java development experience, preferably in enterprise cloud software
- Hands-on operational experience in high-volume or critical production environments
- Demonstrated incident management and root cause analysis skills
- Proven ability to write clean, testable, maintainable code in collaborative settings
- Hands-on experience with open-source technologies: Spring, MySQL, Hibernate, Solr, Maven, Git, Tomcat, Linux, AWS, Vagrant, Docker, Kubernetes
- 3+ years of relational database experience with expert-level SQL skills
- Solid scripting proficiency (Shell, Bash, Ansible, Python, Go, Ruby, etc.)
- Demonstrated history of incident management and leadership ability
- Effective communication skills across all organizational levels
- Proven mentorship track record
