Okta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Technology Data and Intelligence (TDI) team in Bengaluru. TDI drives internal efficiency through secure, scalable, and innovative systems that support Okta's operations and strategic growth.
In this role, you will design and develop customizations, configurations, integrations, and AI-powered solutions for Salesforce to meet the company's strategic business objectives. You'll work end-to-end on technical services including design, configuration, development, testing, and automation, collaborating closely with business stakeholders, analysts, architects, and engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement secure, scalable solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flow, and platform configuration tools
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and solution designs
- Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and event-driven patterns
- Develop serverless solutions using AWS Lambda and cloud-native services to extend Salesforce capabilities
- Build intelligent automation solutions using Python and AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, and Amazon Bedrock
- Design conversational workflows, internal copilots, or AI agents to improve employee productivity and customer support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align solutions with business goals
- Provide level-of-effort estimates and feasibility assessments
- Develop features across multiple Salesforce clouds (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud Console, Experience Cloud)
- Own the full delivery lifecycle from discovery to deployment with proper documentation
- Create and execute comprehensive test cases (unit, integration, functional, automation)
- Support production deployments and perform root-cause analysis
- Mentor other engineers to help them grow and improve their skills
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience using Apex, Process Automation tools, and Lightning Web Components
- 5+ years of software development experience using Java, Python, or JavaScript
- Experience with Salesforce products such as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Communities with in-depth understanding of best practices, coding, and declarative frameworks
- Strong Python development experience for automation, integrations, and AI/ML workflows
- Experience designing cloud-native solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, Step Functions, or serverless architectures
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI/LLM frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Amazon Bedrock
- Familiarity with source control and CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to manage and deliver full lifecycle Salesforce projects independently
- Deep understanding of developing secure solutions that protect sensitive data
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
Desirable experience:
- Salesforce certifications
- Experience with Einstein Bots, predictive analytics, Agentforce, or other AI-powered Salesforce tools
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD practices for Salesforce
- Experience building multi-agent orchestration or workflow automation platforms
- Knowledge of prompt engineering, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or AI governance practices
- Experience improving marketing workflows and automation
- Background in high-growth, fast-paced technology companies
