7AI is a foundational AI security company founded in 2024 by Cybereason co-founders Lior Div and Yonatan Striem-Amit. The company emerged from stealth in February 2025 and has raised $166 million in total funding from investors including Index Ventures and Blackstone. 7AI's platform pairs a federated SIEM with AI agents that detect, investigate, respond, and hunt threats, plus dedicated threat hunting and threat intelligence capabilities, with humans on the loop.
You will join as a Senior Software Engineer on the core product team, owning work across the full stack with a primary focus on backend systems. This is a product-minded engineering role that bridges technical depth with customer empathy. Rather than a conventional backend or full-stack position, this role emphasizes understanding customer pain points in security operations and translating those insights into shipped software.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and maintain core backend systems including APIs, data pipelines, and workflow engines powering 7AI's agentic security platform
- Work across the full product stack using AI-assisted development tools, from backend services to frontend interfaces
- Translate customer pain points into product requirements and ship solutions
- Collaborate directly with customers to understand the problem space and validate solutions
- Contribute product and design judgment alongside technical decisions, helping shape what gets built and how it works
- Choose and implement appropriate technologies and architectures, shipping quickly
The role offers significant ownership and influence at an early stage where your work directly shapes the company's direction. You'll work alongside security veterans who have built similar systems before, in a culture emphasizing respect, collaboration, and a shared bar for excellence.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience with strong fundamentals in system design, APIs, and data modeling
- Hands-on experience with cloud design and implementation (AWS preferred)
- Proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js or similar modern server-side languages; Python is a plus
- Fluent with AI coding tools such as Claude or Cursor
- Strong product instinct: you think about why something is being built, not just how, and you're comfortable talking directly with customers
- Experience in, or strong curiosity about, the security domain, including SIEM, SOAR, EDR, MDR, or incident response workflows
- Strong software development, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with workflow automation, SOAR platforms, or security orchestration
- Familiarity with Temporal or similar workflow engines
- Design sensibility and awareness of when something isn't working from a UX perspective
- Background in a product-facing or customer-facing engineering role
