Honeydew Health is building a digital-first dermatology platform to provide global access to skin health expertise, FDA-approved treatments, and specialist care. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Platform team, you'll work on foundational infrastructure that enables all feature teams to ship faster and more reliably.
Your primary focus will be strengthening the platform layer across data, security, and infrastructure. In your first six months, you'll standardize and optimize logging for AI-supported troubleshooting, implement infrastructure and processes for AI agents to autonomously open PRs for dependency vulnerability resolution, and execute additional platform and security improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying and planning platform projects in collaboration with the engineering manager, then executing them using agentic engineering methods
- Hardening data and security by delivering migrations, security, and compliance work across data stores, APIs, and cloud infrastructure
- Enabling feature teams by assisting with data and security requests and providing thorough code reviews to accelerate shipping on a solid foundation
- Keeping the platform secure, reliable, and aligned with current best practices
You'll work with a modern tech stack: TypeScript and Python for backend services on AWS Lambda, PostgreSQL and DynamoDB for data, infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK), and CI/CD pipelines. The team uses AI-assisted engineering tools and practices.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Production experience building backend services and APIs with an object-oriented programming language, with strong data modeling and system architecture skills
- Demonstrated platform security expertise: securing data stores, APIs, and cloud infrastructure with current best practices in access control, encryption, and audit logging
- Hands-on experience building and operating production infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools (CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines
- Nice-to-haves: healthcare or other heavily regulated domain experience; experience building and using custom AI agents; familiarity with TypeScript, AWS, serverless functions, or PostgreSQL
