Join Contentful's Personalization Team (now part of Salesforce) as a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver end-to-end personalization solutions that help leading businesses deliver personalized digital user experiences.
You will own the full technical stack: high-performance backend services and APIs, React-based frontend tools, developer-facing SDKs and libraries, infrastructure, and observability systems. Your work will span complex challenges including serverless architectures, edge-compute environments, CDN operations, and caching strategies to ensure customers can deliver personalized content with optimal performance and reliability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs with focus on reliability, scalability, and low latency
- Deliver end-to-end solutions across backend, React frontend, and developer tools
- Implement complex CDN and edge-based caching solutions for performant content delivery
- Solve technical challenges balancing performance and elegant architecture
- Continuously monitor and optimize system performance through benchmarking and observability instrumentation
- Implement defensive coding practices and guarantee correctness through automated testing
- Use AI-assisted and agentic coding tools responsibly to improve workflows while maintaining high code quality and security standards
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (planning, refinement, reviews, retrospectives)
- Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate their potential adoption
You bring a proactive problem-solving approach, high sense of ownership, and continuous improvement mindset. You will contribute actively to the team's Agile ways of working and understand how planning, refinement, delivery, reviews, and retrospectives support sustainable delivery.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience building APIs and services handling large volumes of traffic
- Strong proficiency with server-side TypeScript and API protocol design
- Experience delivering full-stack solutions including React frontend and SDKs/libraries/tools for developers
- Experience with serverless architectures, ideally edge compute (e.g., Cloudflare Workers)
- Experience with CDN operations and caching strategies for system performance optimization
- Hands-on experience with benchmarking, code instrumentation for observability, and performance optimization for large-scale systems
- Expertise in defensive coding practices ensuring system robustness and fault tolerance
- Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing (unit and end-to-end)
- Experience using AI tools including agentic coding workflows with sound engineering judgment
- Practical understanding of Agile delivery and how planning, refinement, implementation, reviews, and retrospectives support continuous improvement
- Proactive approach with strong sense of ownership
- Great English communication skills, especially explaining complex technical concepts
