Cylib is building software for production operations and logistics in battery supply chains and circular economy. You will be a senior software engineer responsible for building and evolving the operations platform and shopfloor tablet app used for goods receipt, inventory management, and outbound logistics.
In this role, you will:
- Build and maintain the operations platform and shopfloor tablet application, working across full-stack development (backend and frontend).
- Partner with operations teams to translate business requests into clear, proportionate technical scope, and make recommendations about prioritization and feasibility.
- Lead AI development setup and critically assess AI-generated code and architectural recommendations, applying your own technical judgment.
- Develop backend services using Python with FastAPI and async SQLModel on PostgreSQL.
- Build user interfaces with React and TypeScript.
- Integrate the platform with enterprise systems including SAP S/4HANA, Microsoft Entra ID, and shopfloor label printers.
- Strengthen platform maintainability as it scales: implement automated testing, observability, and deployment automation.
- Make architectural decisions, document the reasoning clearly, and provide thoughtful feedback in code reviews.
You will work in a mission-driven, fast-paced scale-up environment focused on strengthening Europe's battery supply chains and advancing circular economy at industrial scale.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience building software for production use and supporting it post-release.
- Hands-on experience with Python services using an asynchronous web framework, relational data modeling, and database migrations.
- Practical proficiency with React and TypeScript; comfortable building complete user interfaces.
- Daily experience with Docker and CI/CD; comfortable working with Linux servers.
- Experience with configuration management, reverse proxies, and networking is advantageous.
- Ability to assess AI-generated code and recommendations on technical merits and make independent engineering decisions.
- Ability to translate unclear operational needs into specific software requirements and discuss directly with production colleagues.
- Fluent, confident communication in both German and English, including technical discussions with on-site colleagues.
- Experience in production, logistics, or the process industry is a strong plus.
