Sportradar is the world's leading sports technology company serving 1,700+ sports federations, media outlets, betting operators, and consumer platforms across 120 countries. As a Senior Software Engineer on the data platform team, you will design, develop, and operate scalable data warehousing architectures and data integration pipelines that process hundreds of billions of rows of sports data.
You will work on a cloud-native platform combining managed cloud services and open-source frameworks to support analytics, machine learning inference, and interactive dashboards in production. Key responsibilities include:
• Design and develop scalable, reliable, and secure data warehousing architectures and data integration/processing pipelines
• Perform data modeling and integration for machine learning, analytics, and reporting use cases
• Conduct ad-hoc data analyses and support data scientists and analysts with their data requirements
• Design, deploy, and monitor infrastructure for distributed batch analytics jobs and real-time streaming analytics
• Support development of machine learning, data analytics, and reporting solutions
• Present technical architectures and ideas to fellow engineers and contribute to technology stack evolution
You will collaborate with data scientists, BI developers, and engineers across offices in Europe, Asia, and the US. The company emphasizes professional development, flexible working hours, and an inclusive community with employee assistance programs and wellness tools.
The role operates on a fully on-site model with five days per week in the Ljubljana office (certain exemptions may apply by location).
REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on programming experience in the Java ecosystem
• Demonstrated technical expertise in databases, data modeling, and ETL processes
• Experience with data warehousing and/or big data query engines (Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, Amazon Athena, Presto)
• Production database administration experience
• Advanced SQL knowledge
• Experience working with streaming data (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field (equivalent experience acceptable)
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
• Autonomous, rigorous, creative, and collaborative team player
• Bonus: Experience with Apache NiFi, Flink, Airflow, or Dagster
