CreatorIQ is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Messaging team and build next-generation creator communication capabilities. This is a full-stack role with strong backend focus, working across both legacy platform and new microservices.
You will modernize CreatorIQ's messaging architecture, currently built on a large PHP-based monolith, by incrementally migrating functionality into independently deployable microservices using Node.js and TypeScript. Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop scalable backend services supporting email and messaging capabilities
- Understand, troubleshoot, and safely modify existing PHP implementation while designing new architecture
- Analyze legacy code, dependencies, and data flows to define service boundaries, APIs, and safe migration strategies
- Design APIs and agent-facing interfaces for AI agents, including structured schemas, permissions, validation, idempotency, and error handling
- Build agents and expose them as services using A2A protocol or similar patterns
- Contribute to agent integration patterns including REST/GraphQL APIs, tool definitions, and MCP-based interfaces with appropriate security and observability
- Build secure integrations with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and other external communication providers
- Develop capabilities for customer-managed inboxes, domains, sender identities, and campaign-specific messaging automation
- Design APIs, background jobs, queues, and event-driven workflows with reliable retry handling, rate limits, idempotency, and provider failure management
- Improve email authentication, deliverability, bounce/complaint processing, suppression management, and sender reputation
- Contribute to React and TypeScript user interfaces for messaging configuration, automation, and monitoring
- Improve automated testing, observability, performance, and reliability across legacy and new services
- Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, DevOps, Architects, and other engineering teams
- Review code, mentor other engineers, and use AI-assisted development tools
