Close is a bootstrapped, profitable CRM platform built since 2013 that helps small and scaling businesses sell faster with AI-powered automation. The company operates a 120-person, fully remote team focused on communication-first sales software.
You will be the technical owner of Close.com, responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing a world-class marketing website that serves as a critical acquisition funnel touchpoint. The website recently migrated to a modern in-house stack (Astro, Sanity, Vercel) from Webflow, providing a foundation for competitive advantage through speed, flexibility, and creativity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and continuously improving a responsive, highly interactive, polished marketing website with ambitious CSS, motion, and rich media
- Owning performance optimization and technical SEO, ensuring the site is fast and discoverable by search engines and AI agents
- Managing the infrastructure, platform (Sanity CMS), components, integrations, and deployment pipeline
- Implementing and maintaining accurate tracking, attribution, conversion events, and funnel measurement; partnering with marketing on experiments
- Building tools and automations that enable the marketing team to self-serve on page creation, campaigns, and experiments
- Creating systems that allow the website to self-improve through regression detection and performance/SEO issue flagging
- Acting as an engineering resource to the marketing team on broader problems beyond the website
You will work closely with Marketing and a Marketing Designer, reporting through Engineering. This role bridges two teams and requires strong cross-functional collaboration.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience building beautiful, conversion-focused marketing websites
- Proven experience owning and iterating on websites long-term, seeing work through to impact
- Fluency with modern web stacks like Astro and headless CMS platforms (Sanity experience a plus)
- Strong understanding of measurement: cookies, conversion events, analytics, and experimentation tools (Segment, Amplitude, Customer.io, or similar)
- Demonstrated focus on conversion metrics and ability to partner with marketing/growth teams on business impact
- Experience building systems and guardrails that empower non-technical team members to self-serve
- Comfort using AI tools to move faster while maintaining discernment about when craftsmanship is required
- Resourcefulness, collaboration skills, and willingness to tackle tasks across scope and scale
