qlub is a fast-scaling fintech backed by Mastercard, Mubadala, e&, and Shorooq. The company has raised $72M and operates across multiple markets globally, having doubled headcount in the past year. qlub removes friction from restaurant payments: guests scan a QR code and pay in seconds with no app download or waiting. The platform spans pay-at-table, digital menus, order-and-pay, payment links, and SoftPOS terminals. The Loyalty team owns points and rewards, tiers, and subscriptions—both the diner-facing experience and merchant tools. As a Senior Software Engineer on Loyalty, you will drive features across the entire stack: frontend, backend services, and database. This is a hands-on individual contributor role where you own work from design to production and ship often. The team follows Agile Scrum with regular sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. The company works AI-native: AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor) are part of planning, building, testing, reviewing, and documenting every day. You are expected to already work this way and have the judgment to keep quality high. Key responsibilities: - Design, build, and operate Loyalty features end-to-end: customer-facing web apps, merchant admin tools, backend services, and databases. - Design relational data models and migrations that are safe to roll out and correct for money and points. - Integrate with third-party loyalty providers, focusing on reliability, idempotency, and security. - Use AI coding agents daily for discovery, implementation, debugging, testing, code review, and documentation while staying fully accountable for shipped code. Create and contribute to shared context (rules, docs, skills) that AI agents rely on. - Identify product and platform gaps, write clear technical designs, and break large changes into small, safe steps. - Participate in code reviews and help improve engineering standards and AI-assisted workflows. - Improve observability, performance, and reliability of the Loyalty platform. You own outcomes and see work through to production. You make good decisions quickly with incomplete information. You're comfortable working anywhere in the stack and pick up new tools and languages quickly. You collaborate well with engineers, product, design, and operations teams. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years building production software with real ownership across frontend, backend, and database. - Strong backend experience in Go (Node.js also acceptable). - Solid frontend experience with React/Next.js and TypeScript, including state management, API integration, and testing. - Strong skills with at least one relational database (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server): data modeling, indexing, migrations, and query performance. - Good knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems, including queues, retries, and idempotency. - Hands-on, daily use of AI-assisted development tools. You should be able to walk through how you use them: where they help, where they fail, and how you verify output. - Experience with Redis or similar caches, Docker, Git, and CI/CD. - Fluency in English and strong written communication. - Experience working in Agile teams, ideally with Scrum. NICE TO HAVE: - Loyalty domain experience: points and rewards engines, tiers, subscriptions, coupons, or promotions. - Experience with payments or fintech. - Experience with both Go and Node.js. - Experience with event-driven systems and message brokers such as Kafka. - Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Helm. - Experience building LLM-powered features such as tool calling or agentic workflows, with understanding of guardrails and risks.
