Okta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Onboarding and Lifecycle Management (LCM) Platform team. This role focuses on enhancing and managing services for importing, syncing, and provisioning identities and access policies—including users, groups, roles, and entitlements. You will build, design solutions, and maintain the platform for scale, working with a senior engineering team on major development projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement core, high-performance, scalable software components
- Conduct code reviews, performance analysis, and tuning
- Work with QA to develop comprehensive test coverage for broad features
- Handle incoming bugs and customer-reported issues with troubleshooting support
- Interface with cross-functional teams (Architects, QA, Product, Technical Support, Documentation, UX) to develop connectors to on-premises and cloud applications
- Analyze and refine requirements with Product Management
- Partner with Product Development, QA, and Site Reliability Engineering teams on scoping and deployment
- Perform quick prototyping to validate scale and performance
- Debug customer issues using logging tools (Splunk, Syslogs, etc.)
The ideal candidate is naturally curious and has experience building software systems to manage and deploy reliable, performant infrastructure and product code at scale on cloud infrastructure.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of software development experience building highly-reliable, mission-critical software
- Experience with object-oriented languages (e.g., Java)
- Experience with data stores (e.g., relational databases)
- Experience with one or more Directory services: Active Directory, LDAP
- Experience with RESTful APIs
- Ability to debug complex systems
- Experience working with systems at scale
- B.S. in Computer Science or related field
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience with server-side technologies including caching, asynchronous processing, and multi-threading
- Test-Driven Development (TDD) experience
- Knowledge of Identity and Access Management protocols and technologies: OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM
- Microsoft Azure management APIs, ADFS, Office 365, or Microsoft Directory Synchronization Tool experience
