Kimchi is the AI platform inside Cast AI, providing managed LLM inference capabilities on Kubernetes clusters. The platform supports multi-model inference (MiniMax, Kimi, GLM-5, Nemotron, DeepSeek) with intelligent routing, an OpenAI-compatible API, and flexible deployment options from Cast AI's GPUs to customer VPCs.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Agent Platform Team, you will own features end-to-end—from design through implementation, testing, and production rollout. Most projects ship in 1–4 weeks. You'll work directly with product and engineering teams on problems without textbook solutions, minimizing process friction to enable rapid shipping.
The Agent Platform squad builds infrastructure that enables teams to run fleets of AI agents securely in cloud or self-hosted environments. The platform enforces least-privilege access, requires human approval for critical actions, and logs every agent action for full auditability. Your work will give engineering and operations teams confidence to scale agent usage without sacrificing security, control, or visibility.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build distributed systems that run agent fleets at scale across cloud and self-hosted environments, with security as a core principle
- Make every agent action observable, auditable, and governable
- Develop a remote-first experience for working with agents
You'll have high agency across multiple parts of the tech stack, with a startup mindset that embraces adaptability and comfort with ambiguity. The role offers a flexible, remote-first global environment with a fast-paced workflow, 10% time for personal projects, learning budget, annual hackathon, and equipment budget.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Production experience with Go or Typescript strongly preferred; candidates without either must demonstrate strong systems programming skills in a comparable language
- Strong debugging, optimization, and performance-tuning skills, including query profiling, index design, and database performance tuning beyond ORM usage
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and Kubernetes is a strong plus
- Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry), CI/CD, and DevOps practices
- Startup mindset: adaptable, proactive, comfortable with ambiguity
- Strong English skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to drive a complex project end-to-end
- For Agent Platform role: experience in virtualization, networking, security, and Kubernetes internals is a strong plus
