Join auxmoney's IT Risk & Pricing team as a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver backend systems that power risk decisioning, pricing, and data-driven product logic. This is a backend-heavy role focused on complex technical problem-solving and close collaboration with data scientists, analysts, product managers, and business stakeholders.
You will take end-to-end ownership of features from concept through production, designing scalable and resilient architectures while maintaining high engineering standards. Key responsibilities include:
• Architecture & System Design: Identify and address architectural limitations, make pragmatic trade-offs, and evolve systems toward scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
• Technical Leadership: Act as a trusted technical expert by promoting engineering best practices, facilitating technical discussions, and helping teams align on high-quality solutions.
• Engineering Quality: Build secure, scalable, extensible, and cost-efficient solutions while maintaining high coding and documentation standards.
• Execution & Delivery: Break down complex initiatives into manageable workstreams and deliver incremental value through iterative development.
• Impact & Knowledge Sharing: Champion engineering excellence, share knowledge proactively, and support the professional growth of colleagues.
• Collaboration & Problem Solving: Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, contribute to design reviews, and address root causes of recurring technical challenges.
• Ownership & Mentorship: Take responsibility for challenging projects and guide team members through technical mentoring and hands-on support.
• Strategic Thinking: Balance short-term delivery with long-term system sustainability and continuously improve technology, processes, and team effectiveness.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Backend Engineering Expertise: Several years of hands-on backend development experience with strong proficiency in PHP (particularly Symfony framework) and Python.
• System & API Development: Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining robust backend systems in production environments, including strong expertise in developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• SQL Expertise: Hands-on SQL experience in application development with strong proficiency in relational data modeling (table design, keys, constraints) and writing complex, performant queries to support business features.
• Cloud & DevOps Practices: Experience working with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and modern DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and infrastructure automation. Docker and Kubernetes experience highly valued.
• Event-Driven Architecture (Bonus): Familiarity with Kafka or similar event-driven messaging systems is a strong advantage.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Solid understanding of automated testing strategies, including unit and integration testing, with focus on delivering reliable, high-quality software.
• Product-Oriented Mindset: Strong focus on building solutions that deliver measurable value for users and business outcomes.
• Team & Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and collaborative approach with ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and contribute to a supportive engineering culture.
• Security & Compliance Awareness: Proactive approach to implementing security best practices and ensuring compliance throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Language Skills: Fluent written and spoken English.
