Sentry is an application monitoring platform trusted by 200,000+ organizations, processing over a billion events daily. The company is building the AI-native future of error and performance monitoring for developers.
You will serve as the owner and technical lead of Sentry's iOS SDK, guiding its development from core architecture through final product experience. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant technical scope and influence across the mobile platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and architecting the iOS SDK to handle massive scale and complex use cases
- Pioneering next-generation features such as Session Replay and advanced performance monitoring
- Leveraging Apple's latest technologies including SwiftUI, modern concurrency, and on-device AI/Foundation Models
- Building robust, high-quality APIs that serve as the foundation for developer tools
- Contributing to and maintaining a major open-source project with immediate, visible impact
- Serving as the go-to expert for solving complex customer challenges and shaping the overall vision for mobile at Sentry
- Collaborating with a team of thoughtful, collaborative engineers dedicated to excellence
You will work in a fast-paced environment where your technical decisions directly influence how developers worldwide monitor and debug their applications.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong focus on mobile platforms, ideally including SDK development and/or developer tooling
- Deep experience developing for iOS using Swift and Objective-C
- Strong understanding of mobile architecture, patterns, and best practices
- Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools to enhance productivity and code quality
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
- Well-organized with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Willingness to relocate to Vienna area or already based there
BONUS:
- Knowledge of app monitoring and observability space
- Familiarity with low-level programming (C/C++)
- Track record of maintaining or contributing to open-source libraries
- Experience with other mobile platforms (Android, React Native, Flutter)
