ixigo is a leading online travel agency (OTA) in India, empowering travelers to plan, book, and manage trips across rail, air, buses, and hotels. The iOS team is known for early adoption of Apple's latest technologies—from iPhone X layouts to ARKit integration and Siri Shortcuts—and has been featured multiple times on the App Store.
As a Senior Software Engineer - iOS, you will play a critical role in designing, planning, developing, and deploying native iOS applications. You'll be involved across the entire app lifecycle: conceptualization, design, build, test, deployment to app stores, and ongoing support. You'll work closely with the Tech, Design, and Quality teams to build and launch products, collaborate with product managers and developers, optimize app performance, and help establish best practices for future development. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining native iOS applications, delivering across the full app lifecycle, fixing bugs, improving performance, and continuously evaluating new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
You'll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge features, including on-device AI capabilities using Apple's latest frameworks, and to mentor peers while collaborating with technical and business partners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of professional iOS development experience
- Strong understanding of Swift and SwiftUI
- Up-to-date experience with UIKit, CoreLocation, CoreData, CocoaPods, and other iOS frameworks
- Experience writing multi-threaded and asynchronous code (Task, async/await), with solid grasp of SOLID principles, unit testing, and app monitoring (e.g., app launch metrics, Crashlytics)
- Experience with Firebase and CleverTap is a bonus
- Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or Xcode's agentic coding features)
- Exposure to building on-device AI features—Apple's Foundation Models framework, Core ML, or Core AI framework—is a strong plus
- Track record of leading projects, mentoring peers, and collaborating with technical and business partners
- Solid grasp of fundamental computer science concepts
- Ability to work under pressure and manage difficult situations in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with engineers at all levels
- Enthusiasm for fast-paced environments and learning new technologies
- Deep commitment to excellence in products and services
- Test-Driven Development experience is a plus
