ixigo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for iOS to join its mobile team. The company, founded in 2007, is India's leading online travel agency (OTA) serving over 54 crore annual active users. The iOS team is known for early adoption of Apple's latest technologies—from iPhone X layouts to ARKit integration and Siri Shortcuts—and the ixigo app has been featured multiple times on the App Store.
In this role, you will be involved across the full development lifecycle: design, planning, development, deployment, and establishing best practices. You'll work closely with Tech, Design, and Quality teams to build and launch products. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining native iOS applications, delivering across the entire app lifecycle (design, build, deploy, test, release, support), collaborating with developers and product managers on conceptualization and realization, fixing bugs, improving performance, and staying current with industry trends and new technologies.
The role emphasizes technical leadership and mentorship. You'll optimize app performance, evaluate and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency, and contribute to a culture of excellence in product delivery.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of iOS development experience
- Strong understanding of Swift and SwiftUI
- Up-to-date experience with UIKit, CoreLocation, CoreData, CocoaPods, and other iOS frameworks
- Experience writing multi-threaded and asynchronous code (Task, async/await), SOLID principles, unit testing, and app monitoring (e.g., app launch metrics, Crashlytics)
- Experience with Firebase and CleverTap (bonus)
- Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Xcode agentic features)
- Exposure to on-device AI features—Apple's Foundation Models framework, Core ML, or Core AI framework (strong plus)
- Track record of leading projects, mentoring peers, and collaborating with technical and business partners
- Solid grasp of fundamental computer science concepts
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with engineers at all levels
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies
- Deep commitment to excellence in products and services
- Test-Driven Development experience (plus)
